Are there apps or websites that don’t work with an eSIM?
eSIMNum itself does not restrict access to any apps or websites. In most cases, you can use all the same services you would with a regular mobile data connection.
However, some platforms may block or limit access due to their own security or network policies. This can happen for a few reasons:
Common Reasons You Might Experience Restrictions
- Proxy / Roaming Routing Detection Some apps or websites may detect that your connection is routed through a roaming or proxy-like network and may block access or limit certain functions.
- Security compatibility: If a platform’s security requirements don’t align with the routing method used by eSIM data, it may restrict your access.
- Location or service-provider restrictions: Certain services restrict access based on region or network type. If they detect you’re connecting from a location or provider they don’t support, they may block access.
- VoIP or Messaging Limitations
- A few countries or networks block VoIP or encrypted messaging apps. If your eSIM routes through one of these regions, you might experience issues.
Because eSIM data often routes through a global roaming platform, certain apps or websites may treat this type of connection differently. This behavior is not specific to eSIMNum—it’s common across many data-only eSIM services.
