How do data amounts and validity periods work for eSIM packages?
What do “data amount” and “validity period” mean in an eSIMNum package?
Each eSIMNum plan includes:
- A specific data allowance (e.g., 1GB, 5GB, 20GB), and
- A validity period indicating how long that data can be used.
These two components determine how long your eSIM will remain active and how much data you can consume during the service period.
When does my validity period begin?
Your validity period begins once the eSIM is activated on a supported network. This typically occurs when:
- You install your eSIM on your device, and
- Your device connects to a supported network within the plan’s coverage region.
If you purchase an eSIM before traveling, you may install it early. Activation will not begin until you enter the coverage area and connect to the network.
How is my data consumed during the validity period?
Your total data allowance applies to the entire validity period. It is not divided per day.
For example, a “1GB / 7 days” plan gives you 1GB of total data to use anytime within the 7-day period. You may use more on one day and less on another—data consumption is entirely flexible.
Can I use all my data on the first day?
Yes. You can consume your full data amount at any time during the validity period.
If you run out of data early, you can purchase an additional top-up package when available for that region.
How can I monitor or manage my data usage?
You can track data consumption directly from your device’s data usage settings.
To conserve data, consider reducing activities that require heavy bandwidth, such as HD video streaming, cloud backups, or hotspot sharing.
