How can I use eSIM on a network- or carrier-locked device?

eSIMs can only be used on unlocked devices. If your phone is network- or carrier-locked, it is restricted to a specific mobile operator, and eSIMs from other providers (like eSIMNum) will not work.

What you can do:

Check if your device is unlocked

  • Go to your device settings or contact your carrier to confirm if your phone is locked or unlocked.

Unlock your device (if locked)

  • Contact your carrier to request an unlock. Most carriers will unlock a device after meeting eligibility requirements (e.g., contract completion or payment of fees).

Install eSIM after unlocking

  • Once your device is unlocked, you can install your eSIMNum plan and use mobile data without restrictions.

Important:

Even on unlocked devices, make sure your phone supports eSIM functionality and is compatible with the networks in your destination.
